Over the years we've had our share of these moments, and although we've never sought them out, we've appreciated what they've done for us.
Why? Because they've made us rethink our strategies, challenge our thinking, reassess our business model, and come to conclusions as to what next steps to take.
Sometimes these moments have done nothing other than reaffirm our commitment to the current strategy, with the conviction we're on the right path forward and confident that nothing is going to stop us. Other times we've recognized it is time to change, and the sooner we make those changes the better.
Have you had to stare down the tiger lately? If so, did you blink? Or did the tiger blink first? Or better yet, did the tiger sense something formidable in your eyes and wisely turn away?
If you haven't, and things aren't going quite the way you planned, perhaps it's time to go looking for the tiger. Perhaps it's time to face those fears, ask yourself and your colleagues the questions you've been avoiding, hold each other accountable and come away with a reaffirmed or even a new sense of purpose.
Or not. It's up to you.
